Colour Planes

The freedom of watercolour: the layering of washes, the drips and all its capricious natures, makes it ideally suited to abstract painting. Playing with layers, translucency, and ‘mistakes’, loosening control of the medium, leads to unpredictable results. Serendipity enables dynamism, the pigment and the water lead the process. Trials and experiments exploring the boundaries of colour, flow and behaviour have been an invaluable aid to surrendering control of the work.
